Transactions outside of eBay are not eligible for eBay services, including feedback, contact information requests, the eBay Standard Purchase Protection Programme, the Item Not Received Process, and the Unpaid Item Process.
eBay does not permit members to solicit sales outside of eBay. To learn more about this policy, review the Offers to Buy or Sell Outside of eBay policy.
If you knowingly or unknowingly transacted outside of eBay and believe you were defrauded, please fill out the appropriate form below.
By sharing your experience, you can help eBay create safer transactions for you and fellow members of the eBay Community in the future. Fraudulent sellers or buyers may face possible account sanctions. eBay will also cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
In addition to filling out the form, eBay also strongly advises you to take the following steps:
Contact local law enforcement.
Contact the service used to send payment (if applicable).
Contact your credit card company (if applicable). Most card issuers provide consumer protection in instances of online fraud or misrepresentation.
Contact your postage company.
To tell if you have a transaction on eBay: Go to the eBay site on which you registered.
Click My eBay and sign in.
Click the “Won” link under the All Buying section if you bought an item, or click the “Sold” link under the All Selling section if you sold an item.
Check to see that the item you bought or sold appears, along with the User ID of your seller or buyer.
Note: If the item does not appear, the transaction probably happened outside of eBay and is unsafe. As buyers, you should never pay for an item that does not appear in My eBay.
